On Friday last week my six year old nanny charge didn’t have to go into school. This is because he had to go into school on his open day on the Saturday. So I decided to take the boys to Chessington World of Adventures Resort!

It was a lot of fun but why did nobody warn me about taking two small children to a theme park? It’s hard work! My six year old kept going on and on at me and kept complaining about going on rides his brother wanted to. His younger brother is three years old, almost four. He is bang on 1m tall. Meaning that he is only just allowed to start going on rides. So it was nice to be able to share that with him!

Eventually the boys lightened up and we had a great time. Our joint favourite ride was The Gruffalo River Ride adventure. Even as an adult I loved it! It’s a riverboat journey through the deep dark wood. You float down the lazy river while the story comes to life!

We also managed to watch the Sea Lion show! The six year old really enjoyed it 🙂 every time I looked over at him he had a massive grin painting across his face.

Another must see at Chessington is the Sea Life Centre. The boys love their fish as their daddy owns a lot himself. There are sharks, turtles, sting rays, jelly fist and many, many fish! The six year old was also brave enough to pet a starfish and touch a shrimp!

We went on the Zufari too. Zufari is an African Safari where you ride along is safari trucks. You can spot Flamingos, Rhinos, Ostriches, Zebra’s and Girrafes.

Overall it was a very good day. During the ride home the three year old kept trying to fall asleep so I made sure the six year old kept nudging him awake. I decided I needed to get some food in them so we stopped off at a MacDonalds drive through!

Make sure you go and visit and let me know what you think of it!
