This Halloween I have been pretty busy with all FIVE of my nanny children! With the trio we have been to a Halloween event at Penshurst Place, carving pumpkins and went trick or treating! With the boys we have been baking some Halloween cookies and obviously making some Halloween crafts!
With the cookies we just used a basic recipe using plain flour, caster sugar, butter and a few drops of vanilla essence. We used our scary Halloween biscuit cutters and popped our dough in the oven for 35 minutes. The biscuits when I took them out seemed a bit under cooked bit I left them to cool down and they were fine!
Once the biscuits cooled down we iced them. I wanted to give piping a go but I thought piping bags would be a bit too difficult for a four and six year old so I bought some squeeze bottles from Hobby craft. I just made up some icing and poured it in. Easy peasy.
The squeeze bottles were a great idea and worked really well. The cookies looked scary too! You can buy the squeeze bottles from Hobbycraft here for £3 for a pack of two.
The bat biscuit I decorated myself. I think I would make Batman proud.
I hope you all had a happy Halloween and Guy Fawkes!
